Now that I've opened up about why I started eating this way and living on this wonderful new diet I just want to keep on writing and sharing things with you. I have so much to talk about. The reason why I titled it "The Healthy Raw Vegan" is because you can be a raw vegan all day long but if you're not eating the right foods then you can be just as unhealthy as the guy next door that's slamming burgers. I see it all the time, people eating cocao that's toxic and a stimulant, eating loads and loads of fat from avocados and nuts. That's too clogging to the arteries over time, even though it is a good fat, there is a limit. Also eating the fermented foods. I know that there is a lot of claim that they are good for us and this and that but I don't agree. I think that whatever good bacteria is on them won't make it past the gut to do any good anyway so it's a wasted effort. Also everything in moderation. The proteins and fats in moderation are fine but really the only thing that we need to worry about are getting the carbs and everything else will naturally pretty much fall into place. A few nuts here and there is really all that we need.
I remember not too long ago when I was working out and eating a high protein diet that included meat. I would eat string cheese, yogurt, chicken, eggs etc. every single day. I look back on that and wonder how I even had the energy to move. I used to have to preplan all of my meals to make sure that I had enough protein and I had to weigh my meat to make sure that I was eating enough. I'm so happy that I'm not eating that way anymore. I don't want to ever eat that way again. I'm happy going to my blender, throwing in 3 or 4 bananas, some orange juice, carrot juice, frozen cherries, and a mango..... blending and calling it breakfast at around 600 - 700 calories and almost pure carbs. Some people in the fitness world would rather starve than to eat that because they think the fruits have too much sugar but they are so wrong. If we continue to eat this high carb, low fat vegan diet, you actually can't get fat, you just can't. It's proven to be a very healthy way of living and I know that I'm pretty happy living this way.
